Masibulele Mndebele crowned Miss Mpumalanga

Masibulele Mndebele, a 24-year-old media practitioner and aspiring filmmaker from Bethal, in the Govan Mbeki Local Municipality, has been crowned Miss Mpumalanga 2026.

 

The event, held at the AFM Communio Auditorium in the City of Mbombela on 11 April 2026, marked the 16th year of the Miss Mpumalanga pageant, which empowers young women and provides a platform for community contribution.

Masibulele, one of 10 finalists, impressed judges with her passion for addressing issues affecting young women, including health, education and substance abuse. 1st Princes Buyile and the 2nd Princess Kekeletso.

 

Mpumalanga MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Jesta Sidell, praised Masibulele’s win, saying, “This year marks 16 years of changing the life of a girl child. She’ll serve as an ambassador for responsible drinking and gambling in the province”.

The Govan Mbeki Local Municipality also celebrated Masibulele’s achievement, highlighting her dedication to social impact and community service.

 

“Her journey is a testament to the resilience and excellence of our youth,” the municipality said. Masibulele has worked with the iNtombazane sanitary pads initiative, promoting girls’ education and dignity,” said the Govan Mbeki Local Municipality.

Masibulele won a brand-new car courtesy of Omoda, Iphone 17 Pro, BL Beauty Spa for the whole year, monthly stipend (courtesy of MER), bursary from the Premiers Office, a fully furnished apartment for the duration of her reign and many more. She will also promote responsible gambling and liquor trading as an ambassador for the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator.

 

“Go and rock the world, the world belongs to the women, the future is in your hands. Go and represent us globally,” these were words of encouragement from the chairperson of MER Ms. Lamula-Shirinda.
